What does 2026 Look Like for my plan?

What does 2026 look like for my plan?

In past Medicare years, plan benefits were generally very stable, meaning most Medicare carriers rolled people/plans over to the new year’s plan for you without you needing to take any action to take action. Last year, that wasn’t the case—you had to actively enroll in a new plan for new and expanded benefits.

Goodnews:

That rollover process is back for 2026! Many of you
won’t need to make changes, but here are three steps to help you know what to do:

  • If you and I made a plan change together for 2025, chances are very good you’ll be staying right where you are for 2026. Most of those plans are stable with little to no benefit changes in 2026, which is great!

  • Review older plans.  If we haven’t made a plan change together in the last 3+ years, it maybe time to connect to ensure you’re maximizing available bene fits. The Medicare marketplace for 2026 is simplifying, as many carriers are dropping weaker plan options. This makes plan selection clearer and less confusing for us all.

You don’t need to make a decision right now—we have some flexibility.

  • The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) runs from October 15 - December 7, 2025, when most plan changes are made. If you are already on a Medicare Advantage plan, you have an additional opportunity called the Open Enrollment Period (OEP) from January 1–March 31, 2026. During this time, you can make one change to another Medicare Advantage plan if you’re ready and it better fits your needs. This gives you extra time to review your options and make the choice that works best for you.
